We are excessively focused on others’ opinions, and its corollary, these are the opinions that matter. It is human nature that we want to be liked, we want to feel like we fit in and that this even has some positive social norming to it. We may be more desirous of a life that is worth living—that others commend—as a result of the Like button. Therefore for this intervention, I wanted to highlight our obsession with more “likes”, I used the 3D version of the Facebook thumb with a banner that says “Rub me for more likes”.
